SEVA
what is it
Seva is a concept deeply rooted in Hindu and Sikh traditions, embodying the act of selfless service or helping others without any expectation of reward or personal gain. In Hinduism, it is often associated with the idea of performing one's duty selflessly as a path to spiritual growth. In Sikhism, seva is a fundamental tenet, strongly emphasized by the Gurus, and practiced in various forms, including volunteering in the community, helping the needy, and serving in Gurdwaras (Sikh temples), particularly in preparing and serving Langar (a free community kitchen).
