we are the future
we are the future
We’re creating a national, creator-centred counterforce to push back against disinformation, hate, and division in Canada.
One that respects the labour you’re already doing, and offers coordination, community, and infrastructure without trying to own you or sanitize your voice. One that pays you for the public service you are already doing.
We’re not asking for loyalty. Or free labour. Or perfection. We don’t expect you to be an expert on every issue or injustice. We don’t even expect you to speak on every issue, all the time. What we’re looking for is a shared commitment to humanity—over corporations, over billionaires, and over government. That’s it. If that baseline resonates, you’re aligned with what we’re building.
We’re saying: We see what you’re doing. We know it’s often off the side of your desk, without protection or pay. And we want to build a creator-centred network that changes what’s possible—which is designed to benefit both Canadian audiences and content creators like you.

underfunded, and constantly shadowbanned or deplatformed.

content creators in u.s.a are valued as part of the media and information ecosystem
-
Wired Magazine
WIRED Magazine has highlighted how content creators are shaping the 2024 Presidential election, showing that digital influencers—rather than traditional media—are becoming the primary way people engage with political discourse. As trust in legacy news declines, creators are filling the gap, translating complex issues into accessible content that resonates with their audiences.
-
Chorus Media
Chorus Media is a U.S.-based collective of progressive digital voices, designed to counter the far-right’s dominance in online spaces. Chorus provides resources, infrastructure, and coordination to help left-leaning creators disrupt disinformation, organize audiences, and shape narratives in a more sustained and impactful way.
Their model reflects a growing recognition that media influence no longer belongs solely to traditional outlets—creators are now a central force in shaping public opinion.

White House Communication
The White House is Turning to Content Creators—Here’s Why That Matters
The Trump White House has opened media credentials to content creators, podcasters, and digital influencers, giving them direct access to political coverage alongside traditional journalists.
Previously, the Biden administration built a creator network to engage younger audiences, shape narratives, and bypass traditional media channels to communicate policy directly.
let’s talk about Canada’s media problem
As media consolidation intensifies and “neutral” coverage quietly platforms far-right narratives, we’re watching Canada’s information ecosystem slide further into chaos.
Mainstream outlets are failing to meet the moment. Right-wing disinformation is flooding social feeds, podcasts, and “nonpolitical” spaces like comedy and sports. And the myth of neutrality? It’s masking complicity.
We need a counterforce.
Are all content creators on Team Humanity? Of course not. But an entire generation of creators has already been doing this work—breaking down systems, translating research, building political awareness—without backup, funding, or protection.
Creators4Humanity exists to support and scale what they’ve been doing all along:
Fighting disinformation. Calling out injustice. Rebuilding civic trust. And helping disrupt the hate and division spreading across our country.
Dear content creators in canada,
Being a content creator in Canada—especially one focused on political education, critical commentary, or social good—is thankless, isolating, underpaid, and often invisible. You’re not just posting content. You’re doing crisis comms in real-time. You’re translating complex systems into bite-sized truths. You’re holding space for your audience to feel, process, and act. You’re helping explain complex situations to everyday people —and you’re doing it without funding, support, or protection.
And yet, the systems around us—nonprofits, corporations, government, and media—still treat you like a bulletin board like your value is measured in reach, not in depth. Like you’re an optional add-on, not a crucial voice in the democratic ecosystem.
And yet—you keep showing up.
Because you're good at it. Because your community trusts you. Because you believe in making things better. And maybe because deep down, you know: changing the world is a group project—and this is your piece of it.
Let’s name some gaps:
No sustainable income. Most creators aren’t getting consistent pay
No access to benefits. No dental. No extended health. No press pass. No union protections. No safety net.
No contract/business support. No lawyer to review deals. No accountant who understands this niche income structure. No community. You’re operating in isolation, navigating burnout, harassment, and platform changes on your own.
No legitimization. Despite reaching the metrics they could only dream of, you’re still treated like a “hobbyist” while government and legacy media players scramble for relevance.

This isn’t about content control—it’s about content coordination. We’re not here to manage your voice because it is your superpower and magic. We’re here to resource it.
Creative Control
No scripts. No vibes-policing. You decide how you show up. You choose what issues resonate each month, and how you want to talk about them.Flexible Participation
You’ll never be expected to post something that doesn’t align with your values. And the ask is intentionally low-lift: e.g., 2–3 co-posts per month from a table of issues our editorial board creates.Funders Aren’t On Our Editorial Board
Funders don’t direct content; they aren’t even allowed a seat on our editorial board! Creators, journalists and messaging experts do!A Real Seat at the Table
Founding members will actively shape the network—how it grows, what fairness looks like, how we hold each other (and institutions) accountable.
details, specifics & clarifications
-
The 2025 Media Study Survey showed that 79% of “apolitical” online content is actually right-leaning! That means they were pushing political narratives without even talking about politics — think about Joe Rogan, Andrew Tate, Jordan Peterson — Culture, Wellness, Comedy and more, all overwhelmingly right-leaning.
So here’s how to know if you are “left-leaning” or, as we prefer to say, on Team Humanity:
Do you think people should have enough food, housing, and healthcare—no matter how much money they make?
Do you believe queer and trans people deserve to live safely and freely?
Do you believe racism is real—and still shaping people’s lives right now?
Do you think women and gender-diverse people should control their own bodies?
Do you believe the planet matters more than corporate profit?
Do you think disabled people should have access without needing to “prove” themselves?
Do you want your kids—and other people’s kids—to grow up in a world that isn’t built on fear, violence, or control?
Do you believe people are more important than power?
If you said yes to most of that, you're not “neutral.” You’re actually for Team Humanity, making you left-leaning.
-
The way people talk about “the left” and “the right” doesn’t mean what it used to.
We’re not living in a world where it’s just about tax policy or government size.
We’re living in a moment where politics is about who gets to exist with safety and dignity—and who doesn’t.Here's what we’re seeing politically and systemically in practice:
The right is organized around control over people’s bodies, identities, and stories. It spreads fear, targets vulnerable communities, and uses platforms to divide and distract.
The institutional left talks about justice, but often folds under pressure. It plays the game to stay respectable, and leaves people behind in the process.
-
For this phase we’re looking for content creators with established followings on social media.
Instagram: A minimum of 7K is necessary, and an upward of 15K is ideal!
TikTok: A minimum of 25K, Ideally Upwards of 40K
-
For this initiative we’re looking for creators whose social feeds are 55%+ original created content, rather than amplifications, round ups and reposts.
-
The line between the two isn’t always clear—and honestly, that’s okay.
What matters to us isn’t what you call yourself. It’s why you create and who you’re creating for.
Influencers often build platforms by sharing their lives, interests, or recommendations—and some use that platform to uplift critical issues or speak truth to power.
Content creators, especially in the political or educational space, are often focused on making sense of the world, breaking things down for their communities, and challenging the status quo.
The biggest difference? One is usually paid. The other is usually doing this for free—often off the side of their desk, without protection, support, or institutional recognition.
But both have reach. Both have trust. And both have power.
This initiative is designed for creators who use that power for something bigger—to inform, disrupt, connect, and build a better future. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
