A Community Call for Navigating the Conflict Between Truth and Survival
VIRTUAL COMMUNITY CALL | CHATHAM HOUSE RULES IN EFFECT | INVITE ONLY | MID NOVEMBER 2024
There’s a quiet, painful contradiction in the lives of those who’ve worked hard to make it. You've built a career, sacrificed, earned your place—and now, you find yourself in a system that demands your silence. A system that, on one hand, provides stability and success, but on the other hand, stifles your voice when truth most needs to be told.
It’s easy to feel the weight of complicity—the guilt of knowing your platform could serve justice, yet fearing the personal cost of using it. The tension between survival and speaking out is real, and it’s okay to feel that conflict deeply. Guilt is not a sign of failure; it’s a signal that your values are intact.
Holding these two truths—the desire to keep what you’ve earned and the need to stand for something bigger—is not weakness. It’s a mark of awareness in a system that thrives on your silence. Maybe you can’t change it overnight, but wrestling with that discomfort means you haven’t given up. And in that space, even the smallest act of truth-telling can plant the seeds of change.
This community calls has only one purpose – to remind you that you aren’t alone. As bell hooks says, “"Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion."
So Let’s Communion.

For this event, we’ll be using Chatham House Rules to create a safe, confidential space for open conversation. This means you’re free to talk about the ideas or insights you gain from the discussion, but you cannot attribute who said what or identify any participants.
This rule encourages everyone to share freely, knowing that while the content of the discussion can be shared outside the room, their personal contributions and identity remain protected. It’s about respecting the privacy of all participants while still allowing the ideas from the conversation to ripple outwards.
